How to Integrate Nowdesk with Joomla
Create a Nowdesk Account
Sign up and complete onboarding. Go to Settings → Miscellaneous → Installation URL and copy your installation URL.
Open Your Joomla Template
In your Joomla admin, go to Extensions → Templates → Templates. Click your active template and open the index.php file.
Paste the Embed Scripts
Locate the closing body tag and paste the following lines before it, replacing [YOUR-SITE-URL] with your installation URL.

Save and Verify

Common Questions
Nowdesk works with Joomla 3.x, 4.x, and 5.x. The embed uses standard HTML script tags so there are no version-specific dependencies. The only difference is the PHP API used to retrieve logged-in user data (see Step 5 above).
If you edited index.php directly, a template update could overwrite the file. To avoid this, use Joomla's child template feature (available in Joomla 4+) or add the scripts via a Custom HTML module instead.
Yes. If using the Custom HTML module method, set the module's menu assignment to show only on selected pages. If editing index.php directly, wrap the scripts in a PHP conditional that checks the current component or view.
Yes. Nowdesk auto-detects visitor language independently of Joomla's language switcher. For sites where you want to enforce a specific language per Joomla language version, append the ?lang= parameter to the main.js URL conditionally in your template PHP.
