Singles’ Day is no longer a day. With platforms running overlapping campaigns that started in early October and end in mid-November, Double 11 2026 is effectively a month-long peak, and the platform rules that shape what customers ask have changed too. Here is what the calendar looks like and what it means for your support operation.
The 2026 Calendar at a Glance
Dates below come from platform calendars reported by Ebrun on September 21 and HiCom Asia, which checked them against platform announcements on September 30. Confirm exact times on each platform’s merchant portal before you staff to them.

| Tmall presale | Deposits 20:00 Oct 15 – 17:59 Oct 20; balance payments 20:00 Oct 20 – 23:59 Oct 25 | Warm-up ran on Oct 15 before deposits opened |
| Taobao & Tmall spot sales | Warm-up from Oct 17; sales 20:00 Oct 20 – 23:59 Nov 13 | Nearly 25 days of in-stock sales |

The main day itself falls on Wednesday, November 11.
What’s Different This Year
Instant discounts instead of coupon puzzles
According to Ebrun, Taobao and Tmall’s core mechanic this year is “platform-sponsored instant discounts”: price cuts applied directly at checkout, with no need to bundle purchases or collect coupons. Participating merchants must set official instant-discount rates that meet category requirements.
For support, that is good news. Coupon-stacking and threshold questions have been among the most tedious presale contacts in past years. Expect fewer of them and more questions like “why is the discount on this item different from that one?” Your agents, human and AI, should be able to explain how the instant discount applies to a given product.
Pricing rules customers increasingly know about
HiCom points to three sets of rules: the Internet Platform Price Behaviour Rules, applied since April 10, 2026; the long-standing price-marking requirement that a promotional “original price” be no higher than the lowest price actually charged in the seven days before the promotion; and the revised Anti-Unfair Competition Law, in force since October 2025.
Customers who notice a price drop after they paid a deposit will ask about price protection. Have a clear, accurate answer ready for each platform and product type, and make sure your AI agent quotes your actual policy rather than a guess.
Delivery costs rose before the peak
Ebrun also reported that major express carriers raised outlet and cooperative-client fees by at least RMB 0.1 per parcel from September 20, while leaving individual retail prices unchanged. That won’t change what customers pay, but it is a reminder to recheck delivery promises and courier capacity before the November surge.
A Support Playbook for a Month-Long Peak
Staff for several smaller peaks, not one
Overlapping calendars mean several spikes: October 20, the end of the balance-payment window on October 25, the run-up to November 11 and the returns wave after it. Plan coverage week by week rather than around a single day.
Separate pre-purchase and post-purchase queues
Pre-purchase questions about discounts, deposits and stock convert into revenue when they’re answered quickly. Post-purchase questions about delivery, failed payments and returns protect your reputation. They need different skills and different response-time targets. Our Q4 peak-season readiness plan covers how to forecast each by intent.
Make every campaign rule expire
With dates varying by platform, campaign-specific help content needs an end date. An AI agent quoting last week’s deposit deadline does more damage than one that admits it doesn’t know.
Prepare for agents shopping on customers’ behalf
Personal AI agents that compare prices and place orders are no longer hypothetical: standards for how they interact with businesses are being drafted now. During a peak built on time-limited prices, expect more automated price checks and decide in advance how your systems treat them.
Keep a route to a human
The longer the peak, the more edge cases: split shipments, partial refunds, deposits on items that sold out. Make sure customers can reach a person when automation can’t help, and that the person sees the whole conversation.
The Takeaway
A longer Double 11 spreads demand out, which should make the peak easier to handle. It also multiplies the number of deadlines, rules and platform differences your team has to get exactly right. Map the calendars, update the knowledge your agents rely on, and staff for a month of moments rather than a single day.
